About Yame
Yame-City is a local city of about 65,000 people of population located in the southwest in Fukuoka-Prefecture (current as of 2015).
The production of whole Japan in Yame accounts for about 3 % , at the 6th place of whole Japan about green tea.
It's little, but the production is learned about as a production district of valuable tea in Japan.
It's easy to bring about fog and the climate of Yame is quite blessed with the environment in tea growing, and the daytime temperature is high and the night is cold. The environment that very good tea grows up is also complete in Yame, from 1600 mm to 2400 mm the amount of rainfall of the year.
Since putting it in the "GYOKURO" made the best brand of the Japanese tea, I receive much official commendation as the best of Japan producing center.

The climate environment that Yame is good produces much farm produce. Yame is the city of agriculture and horticulture where fruit and vegetables as well as green tea produce various farm produce.
Yame is the town where craftsman's work is left. The various handicraft industries are continued at this town, "BUTSUDAN" (means Family Buddhist altar) and the "CHO-CHIN" (means paper lantern) etc. which start with handmade "WASHI" (means Japanese paper) and stone "TOUROU" (means lantern) which are called when I have an origin in the Middle Ages, in the modernized world.
The total volume of production of the traditional work which becomes the biggest traditional accumulation place of arts and crafts in Kyushu is record-high at Kyushu in Yame-shi.
Yame is a strong area of history, traditional culture and agriculture.
